This is an original press kit for the "Big Thing!" album by Duran Duran. It includes an 8x10 black & white photo plus a 5 page write-up on the band and album. Both parts have the Capitol logo. Record companies send out press kits in small quantities to media outlets and record reviewers to announce and promote a new album. Record companies do not sell them to the public. Press kit photographs are almost always black and white; there is rarely a color version. Photographs are usually 8x10, but some labels provide a smaller photograph. The press kits contain one (usually) or more photographs and may contain one or more of the following: cover letter, blurb about the artist and the album, history/discography of the artist, reprints of reviews, custom folder.
