Stock certificate of Durant Motors Inc. of Flint, Mich. Measures 11-1/2" x 7-1/2". Dated 1928. Makers of the Star, Flint and Durant autos in the 1920s, after founder Billy Durant was fired as GM's CEO in 1921. This is part of a large collection of historic stock certificates and related fiscal paper that was accumulated by a veteran collector 25-50 years ago. Condition is typical of century-old fiscal paper from dealer stock. Condition issues MAY include such things as original portfolio folds, minor paper splits, minor corner creases, edge and corner bumps, punch or ink cancellations, etc., staples (perhaps w/ rust stains), etc. Some certificates will have a lightly pencilled dealer price and/or inventory data in an upper corner, as was common with stock and bond dealers in the 1980s and earlier. Please see the large scan for particulars of the certificate being offered. Because of the relatively small bed of my scanner, occasionally my scans will not include the complete certificate. Rest assured if there is any clipping on the actual certificate, it will be noted. Condition particulars for this certificate: Heavier than usual vertical folds at center.
