Dutch model 1934 combat helmet. Nice example of an m34 model helmet, reissued to collaborating political organisations or police units. Lots of the general issue army helmets were captured after the Netherlands got invaded by the Germans. Stocks of them were sended of to Romania, wich at the time was an axis allie, and the rest usually ended up in police use or in use of calloborating political/idelogical movements within the Netherlands. This one has been painted glossy black and matte black afterwards at a given moment. No dings or cracks, but obvious signs of use and scratches. A few paint chips are clearly visible on top, where a little surface oxidation is present aswell. The liner is complete and in good condition, made up out of 3 leather pads with 2 `tongues` and eyelets each. Underneath these are 3 orange felt pads, all this is mounted on a leather band rivetted straight to the shell. Two metal attachmets are rivetted to the shell to hold the chinstrap. The chinstrap is made out of black leather, and in good supple condition. It has no buckle closure, butr actually some kind of derived model of the sliding buckle rather. The shell has a rear slit, to carry the helmet easyly on a backpack or another piece of equipment. Overall a nice helmet, you won`t easyly find like that If you have any questions, or need additional read more
