The Americal Division won two battle stars for the campaigns of Northern Solomons and the Southern Philippines. The Americal fought on Guadalcanal along with the 25th Infantry Division and 1st Marine Division to capture that contested island. The Americal saw heavy combat in the Philippines and especially on Cebu and Leyte. At the end of the video t is brief coverage of the Americal in Vietnam. The video was made using maps, division histories, old newspaper and magazine articles and headlines, statistics, decorations, patches and awards, military music, casualties, military props and material from many sources including the National Archives and Japanese. While heavily researched and very interesting this video is not a Hollywood production, but a good sequential history of a famous division. Each winning bidder will receive a sheet of return address labels with the Americal patch and your name and address printed on them. The video was recorded and stored in a smoke free facility, and is brand new! It comes in an attractive read more
