Dynaco MKiii MK iii Mark 3 RACK MOUNT Tube Amps stereo Description These are the extremely rare rack mount versions of the Dynaco MK. 3. Everything is the same as a "square" Mark Three, but in a 19" rack mount spacing. Because of the chassis, they have less "heat load" on the parts, with the rectifier between the two transformers, and much more square footage on top and cubic footage in the enclosure. They have piano hinge lids, that have feet on them (I don't see someone putting these in racks, but to each his own). They have been rebuilt to stock specifications using HolCo resistors, Sprague power supply caps, Russian MBM film/foil caps, polystyrene picofarad caps, SCR, new heavy duty binding posts, gold plated nine-pin ceramic tube socket, new current/bias test points, new input jack and heavy duty power cord. All parts are several orders of magnitude better than what Dynaco used orginally, which kind of sucked compared to the transformers (great) and the design (real good). Obviously, these have the A-431 output transformers, which is the heart and soul of the design. Very good iron with UL taps and gorgeous tone. All the output tubes are matched pairs of GE 6550 (about 85-95% life left), new RCA 6AN8a input/driver tubes, and British made 5ar4/gz34 (both are Mullard I think, one tube branded Mullard with date codes of f32... read more
