Offered for your consideration is a clear glass mustard jar with matching lid made by the Elson Glass Company (1882-1893) in their number 9 pattern. Also known as "Alpha Swirl" or "Elson Swirl", this pattern was introduced in 1888. Stopper is marked "H. Wichert".The mustard jar measures approximately 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) tall and 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) in diameter. The lid measures 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter and is 2 inches (5.1 cm) tall. Combined, the mustard jar with lid is approximately 5 inches tall.This battle and lid are in excellent used condition with no cracks, chips, noticeable scratches, roughness, nor repairs. Mustard jar is used so there may be faint surface scratches, minimal wear, or other indications of use. See photos. The glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, and only minor lime scale or hard water deposits present inside bottom of cruet. The bottle has a "cut shut" mark at bottom and there may be minor imperfections within the glass due to the manufacturing process used at the time.Mustard jar will be shipped from a smoke-free home and will be packed securely for shipping.Good luck and thank you for your interest.
