Early Densmore Typewriter. We believe it to be a # 2 which would date it to the late 1800's. It has been mounted to an oak board which allows the tin handled cover to be attached. The attachment is a metal cable strung through the typewriter and wrapped around screws on the board which can be easily removed. I believe the metal cover (whether original or not) really preserved this typewriter. Its in great condition and clean. I'm not an expert in typewriters and have very little experience in ones this old but the only thing I think is missing is the bell for the return.
