This early antique valentine is in perfect condition! It is signed "WOOD" on the left side. Intricate lacy front cover is backed by purple paper and some blue decoration is attached at the back corners of the lacy front. The lacey paper supports several die-cuts and in the center, mounted on the purple paper is a pressed golden foil decoration which shows cupid firing his arrow at a heart on a pedestal. Inside there is a printed verse set in a colorful background and then comes the back cover which is a continuation of the front cover. The valentine is 5 and 1/2inches high and 3 and 15/16 inches wide. This valentine is from a recently purchased collection which includes many rare valentines. Some of these are from the 1850's and they are signed, and there are some large and impressive later valentines. Many are unusual and rarely seen.
