EARLY BAUSH & LOMB 18 IN EF PROJECTION LENS BALOPTICON Item Description is a Bausch and Lomb (B & L) magic lantern projection lens. It is marked 18 in E.F. Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. Rochester NY and numbered 3183427. I believe this lens was patented in 1911 and was for the Model BC Balopticon. It was advertised in a 1927 Bausch and Lomb catalog to cost 77.00 back in 1927 which makes this quite valuable today.It is a brass lens with a black coating. It is very large and heavy, weighing over 7 pounds. It measures 10 1/4" full extended and has a diameter of 4 1/2".I am not a photographic expert so feel free to email your questions and comments.
