This pair of early Plains Indian moccasins are approx. 7 1/4" long by 4" wide and 3 1/4" tall. The mocs are all handmade and handstiched of buckskin with rawhide soles. The beadwork is hand lazy-stiched in a maltese cross motif often used by the Crow, Arapaho, and other Plains tribes. T is also lazy stiched beadwork trim border above the soles. Nice early beads and great color combination, Arapaho green and Crow red beads. The moccasins are in good condition for age around circa 1900 or earlier. On both moccasins the beaded borders end toward the back with a slight approx. 1/2" space showing. I am unsure if that was intentional or bead loss. One cuff has small hole (see pic).
