Circa mid to later 20th century, painted and designed Cochiti bowl, crafted by Serafina Ortiz (1931-2007). Featuring handles designed to look like matching lizards on either side, and patterns traditional with southwest culture, it measures 6" by 4.5". The earliest pieces from S. Ortiz are often unsigned, but having one of these highly collectible pieces that is in fact signed by her, increases the value of the piece greatly. Upon examining the bowl, we've noticed that the handles appear to have been broken, and then repaired at one time. Other than that, it is in good estate condition, and perfect for collectors of her work, and Native American culture alike.
