Early Disston No 8 ripsaw from 1874 /1875 This No 8 ripsaw was made by Henry Disston in Philadelphia in about 1875. The unusual style of medallion dates it almost exactly, see Disstonian Institute website The blade is straight and rust free. The bad news is it has been cut down at one time. The handle is in poor condition, horns are both shortened and the lambstongue is partly missing with a brass strip replacement. Having said that, how many saws are there left from the 1870s?
