Her e we offer a set of early editions of Alice in Wonderland Books, by Lewis Carroll. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, published in 1896 and 1897, respectively, by Henry Altemus Company, Philadelphia. Both books have wear to the boards (see pics) and some foxing, a tiny edge tear, slight smudge, and/or dog-ear or two--all text and illustrations are bright and crisp, each binding is tight and square. Alice's Adventures is period-inscribed; both books have beautiful frontispieces. 183 and 211 pages, respectively, plus many pages of ads. Books measure approximately 6.5 x 5-inches ( Looking Glass is slightly shorter.) Included in this sale is an original 19th century liniment bottle with a "drink me" tag of the type in the first Alice book. The auction also comes with a new tin of Enchantmints, an Alice in Wonderland-themed candy. These will surely make original and eye-catching accompaniments to a gift packaging. This wonderful set would make a valuable centerpiece to your collection or a very special and thoughtful gift. **Please check out our other auctions of classic vintage gifts and iconic antiquarian books!** Thank you for your interest!
