Southen Plains moccasins, esp. late 1800s to early 1900s, command a premium due to rarity. This is such a pair from Cowan's Auction house and they are rather special. Although Apache moccasins tend to be spare in design, this is one of a number where the beadwork is advanced and complex. Using traditional Apache beads and motifs, they are densely woven onto this wonderful pair, enlarge the first two photos to see the intricate patterns. They are early but remain in excellent shape. The hide is still soft and they were worn and remain wearable, although much too valuable to do anything with except display with some price. They have parfleche soles and measure 9 inches in length. S. Plains moccasins not this nice commonly sell for $4,000 or more. This reserve is very low and they will sell. See our other auctions. We accept paypal. Good luck.
