Very early Mexican sterling charms on keychain Engraved 1896 +enamel over silver

Interesting old keychain with early charms. I'm not sure if they all started together but I think they did. The keyring is marked 980 Taxco, the large charm on the end, which has the initial C is marked Silver Taxco 980. The small heart charm in engraved on one side "F to E, Mexico 96". The other side says "Porte Bonheur" which translates to "Carry Happiness". The other small charms are enamel over silver. They are very small, about 1/2" each. Entire keychain measures about 5" long.
