Being offered is a magnificent Early Nippon Hand-Painted Chocolate Pot w/ Violets. This particular mark seen in picture (12) is the Maple Leaf mark which was used between (1890-1921) it came in colors of green, blue and magenta this ones blue. The chocolate pot is heavily decorated with vibrant purple violets and green leaves, thick heavy bands of gold with raised beading are found on the top and bottom, the middle band of gold has a very unique design it shows the flowers actually cascading over the band in many areas with the quality and detail being truly exquisite. This piece does have a few issues the lid has been repaired but done very well and is un-noticeable from the top unless you are looking for it (see picture 10). T is a chip on the inner lip of the spout (see picture 8) and t is a hairline on the bottom (see pictures 11 & 12). The thick heavy gold bands and lid show no loss of gold and little loss of gold is found on the trim and top of handle. Although not perfect this would make a fabulous shelf piece. It stands 9 1/4" tall, 7" in length handle to spout.
