If a Higher End Parker & Montblanc had a Baby , It would be an Osmia Early Osmia Fountain Pen - Scarce 992 AW Faber Piston Filling model Barrel Number is Present But Main Imprint is NOT - Somehow this pen got out of the factory without getting its barrel imprint,it seems in Stunning Grey- Beauty Excellent condition The nice Solid 14K Osmia Nib is a Fine to Small Broad Line as seen Fountain Pen is 5- 1/8" Long Capped & Chunky model - Gorgeous as seen NO chips,cracks,engravings,ect New Unused Premium Sac installed with NO signs of ink Inside OR Out Highest Bid Wins Osmia was founded in 1919 by Hermann Böhler under the name of Böhler und Cie , in Dossenheim, near Heidelberg. Böhler, left Kaweco to create a new company to realize a production of gold nibs. At first,he produced mechanical pencils and hard rubber safety pens. The Osmia logo, a diamond placed inside a circle. The first version of the logo consisted in a convex Greek cross & was brought to court by Montblanc , who won a very high compensation and threatened the complete destruction of the entire production,so the case was resolved by changing the symbol to the cross in a diamond. The company name, Osmia , derived from a special metal alloy, called Osmiumalloy for which the Böhler brothers obtained the use thanks to a patent by the Heraeus company in Hanau & was used for the tips of the Osmia nibs, and though much more expensive, had a much higher quality respect to natural iridium then available in Germany which allowed the company to provide a lifetime warranty on their pens. Quickly becoming the second largest producer of pens in the country,after Montblanc. Parker began to take an interest in Osmia and aquired it in 1928. They then produced the Duofold for the European market. A new line, the Osmia Supra was created. In 1932, the nib factory was sold to Degussa . In 1933 S treamlined pens were made .
