This is straight out of my own collection of early ceramics. The set has remained together as well as without any damage or any kind for over 200 years! First I will describe the plate...it measures approx. 6 3/4"d. and is decorated with red, blue, green and black. The center has the owners name of Dorothy Hauxwell as does the matching mug. The back of the plate has an incised "G". The edge of the plate is a raised rope turned design with beaded inner trim. The mug has the same decoration however t is an addition raised design at the arches. Has a wonderful applied handle that also has a raised design. The mug measures approx. 4"h., 4" d. not including the handle. I believe that these pieces were a presentation-present item that were special commissioned items from the manufacturers. The mug could use a good peroxide cleaning. This is a rare opportunity of purchase a set of early Staffordshire, Leeds soft past ceramics and most certainly would make a great addition to your collection. Buyer pays shipping and insurance.
