Beautiful and Early Weller Louwelsa Vase Decorated with Roses Here for your consideration is an early and sweet piece from Weller's Louwelsa line. This vase is 7" inches tall and 6 1/2" wide, a nice substantial size. It is decorated with three raised copper-colored roses and branches of rose leaves, against a glossy standard glaze. It is signed "J. B." under the glaze near the bottom, and "Weller Louwelsa" on the bottom. I believe this particular Louwelsa mark was used from 1895-1918. The initials J.B. stand for John Butterworth, one of Weller's talented artists. This beautiful vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, no cracks, hairlines, or repairs . The glaze is nice and shiny and there is little, if any, crazing. However, there is one little spot on the backside where the glaze is a bit irregular. As you may know, Weller's Louwelsa line w as one of his earlier lines, and this piece is a great example of Butterworth's work !Ple ase note, the shipping quoted is for the lower 48 states.
