A very desirable Western Boulder, knife/axe combination set, with genuine celluloid handles and original sheath. These sets were once the "showstoppers" at almost every gun show. After some years of a decline in price, these sets are once again becoming very scarce and quite desirable. The celluloid on this set is gorgeous, and is known as "cracked ice" celluloid. There are no issues with the celluloid with no signs of deterioration or shrinking. These sets have a single handle, and a hatchet and knife which are interchangeable. Both the hatchet and knife snap into the handle easily and securely, with a rotating arm which swings down and locks the knife or hatchet into position. Both the knife and hatchet are in excellent condition, with only some slight tarnishing of the metal. NO significant wear to either the hatchet or knife.These sets were designed to cut down the weight of the set. The leather handle is original to the set, with no missing stitches, and working keeper strap. This set is a "must have" with any serious Western Cutlery collection.
