Very Unusual & probably one of the first retractable Dip Pens ever designed . 4.5" long with black enameled outer barrel. It was the "ARROW" Pen Patented by the Eagle Pencil Co, on Feb. 1st 1887 . The way that it operates is when you hold it in a vertical position and press the button on the tail end down the nib holder and nib fall out the lower end. When you release the button the button on the nib end retracts and locks the nib sturdily in place. When not in use, this same button which is connected to the spring retracts, encapsulating the entire writing parts. The nibs are replaced by pulling them out of the nib holder & pushing another into place. The gold nib in the pen is a C. Howard-Hunt No. 25. The 4 extras in the box are Esterbrook Lettering Pens, Charlie Harris
