I have for auction a nice early manufactured Marine Corps issued Kabar fighting knife with USMC marked scabbard in fantastic service used condition . This is one of many items that came from a USMC man's estate. All his uniforms had been claimed but I was able to get a great many field gear and Japanese bring back items ( I have already sold a few, best is the "NO GRENADE FISHING PLEASE" sign) this being one of them. Pretty sure he had to have been 1st Division as I have a page from his 1992 birthday stating how lucky he was that the ship he was on while unloading, the USS Libra, only took a near miss on November 11, 1942 with another showing him bathing in the Teneru River. The knife itself is damage free with good early markings on both side of the blade as pictures show, blade shows very light sharpening and is straight. Leather gasket handle is fine with no damage to speak of along with a tight pommel. The leather scabbard is in the same condition with nothing loose and strong all around, very good stitching and staples. well marked below the snap "USMC BOYT 1943". This would make a great addition to any early war Pacific Marine collection or to a knife collection in general Feel free to ask any ? on this item as all my items are sold with no reserve and starting price low. Item's sold as is as I will do my best to describe and
