Welcome! This is rare early thunderbird or Hopi Bird bracelet was made by the estimable Myra Tuscon, who began work in the 1940s and is mentioned in most all the books. I've scanned a page from "Zuni The Art and the People" Volume 1, which includes a picture of a bolo similar to one I'm offering in a separate listing. The bolo has similar aspects to this bracelet. The same bolo also appears in Schaaf's Biographies Volume 1. The "racing stripe" kind of design she uses on the chest is distinctive and very pretty. She hand cuts and buffs the stones she used for her mosaic inlay and the mother of pearl is very reflective on this piece. The bracelet is more beautiful in person than the pictures because of the opalescence of these stones. The natural turquoise is very clean and bright and the coral or spondylus is a nice rich dark red. The artist uses a complex pattern of design and lovely juxtaposition of colors. She applied hand made raindrops and hand twisted wire for decoration. It's in excellent vintage condition. I see no problems; no cracks or damage despite the age. I think the marks on the turquoise are probably matrix related and not actual cracks in the stone. The bracelet is 2-5/8" high at the center and tapers at the back for comfort. It is constructed on three thick wires which widen at the center and narrow together
