This Is one of the 'good' ones....a rare, early Vogue outfit for your transitional, strung Ginny doll. The outfit is identified as 'Betty' (#8-12K) from Vogue's Group K Evening Dresses of 1950. You can just barely make out this dress from a poorly photographed picture on p, 83 of the purple covered Izen/Stover Ginny book, This outfit was also used as one ot the promotional Easter outfits. You can see a picture of the dress with others in an ad on p. 86 of that same book, In this ad, 'Betty' is the doll sitting in the top right picture, 'Betty' is also very similar to Vogue's promotional Valentine's Day doll and outfit for that same year. You can see that outfit on p. 85. So, now that you have all that history of this outfit, I will describe this one.....First, it's hard to believe it's 66 years old! It is so fresh and crisp. The dress can 'stand' for the pictures I took without falling down. There are no stains, rips, repairs, spots, holes, or faded areas. The taffeta of the dress is not wrinkled indicating that it has probably not been washed. The panties are a bit wrinkled, but the elastic is tight and not stretched out. The dress carries the wavey lines, folded over Vogue tag on the outside back waist. This tag is the one used on Vogue's 1950 outfits. I rate this outfit as in very good to excellent condition. The hat appears to read more
