HUGE BANQUET SIZED HIGH QUALITY EASTLAKE VICTORIAN SOLID WALNUT DINING ROOM TABLE WITH FINELY CARVED BASE AND SIX LEAFS PRICE REDUCED FOR CLEARANCE! Need a table for eighteen guests? With our compliments we are pleased to bring you this splendid solid walnut Eastlake Period Victorian Dining Room Table. This table is 48" wide and 48" long without any of its six leafs installed. The table is the standard 30" high. With its six leafs installed, this table becomes ten feet long and capable of comfortably seating 18 people. By far and without a close second, this is one of the best tables we have gotten in for sometime now. When we received this table, the runners were misaligned and we spent three solid days making it work correctly. This table will function perfectly and now the runners simply glide open the way they originally should have. The table has a split column base that conceals the fifth leg. This leg is on its own caster wheel and travels with the runners to support the use of the six 12" leafs. This table has a finely carved edge surrounding it, with the same carvings on the edges of all the leafs. The base is nothing short of magnificent having carvings on all the connecting stretchers, each leg, the rounded corner blocks and appointed with two large rosettes on each side of the four sided skirt. All the legs are on finely made casters and the only visible flaw on this table is approximately three 6" indentations on its top. Special note: We would be happy to sand down the top at no extra cost, but many of our customers do not like original finishes adulterated even though we will perfectly match the color to the rest of the remaining table's stain. The choice remains yours! Ten foot long tables are not hard to sell, so if you need a table this large, we suggest you make your move on this one fast. FURNITURE WOODS 101 : We get a lot of questions on whether or not the furniture we list is comprised of solid wood or veneered. We would like to take this opportunity to give our customers a brief explanation of the construction of antique furniture. Most specialty cuts of wood i.e., tiger maple, bird's eye maple, tiger oak (a.k.a. quarter sawn) crotched mahogany, Cuban mahogany, burled walnut, flame birch, flame cherry, etc., are applied to furniture via veneers. These choice cuts of woods are prohibitively expensive that they very rarely used these in solid wood form. However, t were exceptions to this. When we are fortunate to encounter one of these exceptions, we try to be clear in identifying the solid wood construction. In most cases, these woods are no longer available at any price. If our listing doesn't state that it is made of solid wood, then the furniture was made from a combination of veneers and solid secondary woods. We list the specialty woods in our listings first, as that is the most prominent feature. Please read descriptions carefully and look at all photos. Ask any questions that you may still have. Requests of additional photos are encouraged, as we are limited to the amount of space allocated for photos. We hope this clarifies for you some of the mystique involved with buying antique and vintage furniture. "BUY IT NOW" OR "BEST OFFER" : We use eBay's "Buy It Now" or "Best Offer" option as our way of selling merchandise to you in the fairest way possible to all. The "Best Offer" option allows you to barter for a price without having to stand by your computer to the end, just to have someone 'snipe it' away from you at the last minute. You don't have to wait for 7 days either! Once an offer is made and accepted , that's it, you have purchased the item at the negotiated price. Just remember though, someone could come in and pay the "Buy it Now" price before any negotiations are completed. So bid early to insure your treasure! Like all other sales on eBay, this is a binding contract, so I can't emphasize enough the importance of asking all questions first and looking at all photographs carefully.
