Here is a scarce Edison phonograph cylinder, #28026 Lento from the American Quartet by Anton Dvorak. This is a piece played by The Olive Mead String Quartet. What a beauty this is! A gorgeous piece of music played hauntingly and with great feeling. These cylinders are rarely found today for several reasons. There wasn’t much of a market for this kind of music. Strings didn’t record well. The fragile wax was subject to breakage and wore out quickly. This one is in as fine condition that you are going to find. Clean, shiny, no chips and virtually no surface noise. Box and lid are correct, excellent condition. What more can you say about this one? Buyer pays SHI. Insurance included in handling.
