Instead of sending back a premature payment, which takes forever and means I have to wait for my money and you have to wait for your item, I will accept the payment but you will not receive any refund of shipping and/or insurance charges. If you insist on not reading the entire auction description, if by not paying attention you circumvent a process I have developed to make things easier for everyone involved, it will cost you. I can't make this request any larger or redder, can I? All shipping quotes include insurance per new eBay policies (for domestic shipping at least), however I want to be able to at least give the high bidder all possible shipping options and add any additional charges (such as Signature Confirmation, which is required by eBay for auctions valued in excess of $250.00), which I can only do by completing an invoice. The invoice will usually be ready the day after an auction ends, but I will notify the high bidder if t is to be a delay. Buyer pays actual shipping/insurance plus a small fee for packing supplies ($4.00, which will be added to the invoice in the "additional charges" section). I don't like extra fees tacked on at the end of auctions any more than you do, but t are real costs involved in packing correctly using new boxes, bubble wrap and packing peanuts. I try to start my auctions as low as possible; in order to do that I have to make sure that t are no extra costs for me beyond eBay and Paypal fees. Regarding the calculated shipping tool eBay provides, I am not familiar with its accuracy so I will make you this guarantee (this guarantee applies to all buyers who read the entire auction description and have followed all payment instructions): If you pay the indicated shipping cost and the actual shipping (plus insurance and handling fee) is less I will refund the difference to you. I don't intend to make a profit on shipping and I err on the high side in my weight calculations, so if t is a discrepancy you will be reimbursed. In the past I usually shipped by United States Postal Service, using parcel post most often, Priority mail when preferred by the buyer. However, with the lines at the post office I tried Fedex Home and UPS and was very happy with the lack of lines, comparable cost and quicker transit times. What with the increases in USPS shipping rates often Fedex and UPS are cheaper in fact. I will still indicate USPS for eBay's shipping calculation, but know that I may use any of the shipping options described above. If you have a preference please let me know and I will calculate shipping costs based on your parameters. I used to ship every day as necessary, leaving packages at my front door for pickup. One day a few packages were allegedly missing when the postman arrived, so now I must hand every package to a postal employee at the post office in order to be assured of shipment. What that means is that the frequency of my shipments has been reduced to one or (rarely) two days per week. My auctions usually end on a Sunday, with shipment of packages on the Thursday following. That assumes payment has been made of course, and everything is in order.
