Oil on canvas, signed at lower right, presented in a period gilt Louis XV style frame.Stretcher size 18 1/4 x 30 in.; Frame dimensions 38 x 26 in.Edward Joseph Head studied at Regents Street Polytechnic and Scarborough School of Art under Albert Strange. He exhibited at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool, the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists in London.Small area of paint lifting and an associated small paint flake to well head in lower right quadrant; allover craquelure; area of retouch visible under UV light in upper right corner.
