A lovely solid silver anointing spoon. The spoon is a souvenir of the Coronation of Edward VII in 1902. Part of the ceremony at the coronation is for the Archbishop to anoint the new monarch with an anointing spoon, and this spoon is a replica of the one used. If you are intending to bid, please read the Postage/Insurance section below before proceeding . Hallmarks : Very small hallmarks, marked on the side of the handle for London 1902 (Lion passant, Leopard Head, date letter g). The makers mark is CS*FS, which refers to the silversmiths Charles Saunders & Frank Shepherd. Dimensions: It is 10.5cm long and weighs 10.7g. Condition: The spoon is in fine condition, with no dings, splits or repairs. It was probably originaly gilded.
