the Selected Classic to Modern Mexican Stamps ei57 Mexico #144 100c Black (Tabasco) 1682 NF $50. Used or CTO? Scarce with the district consignment numbers. Nice in any collection, this will be great in yours. . Today, I am putting up more very special items. It is rare that a dealer can find any good group of early Mexican stamps that almost all have great cancels or wonderful centering. Recently I was able to purchase a great group of stamps from a collector that has spent years putting these together. His interest has turned to other thing, so this will be your opportunity to pick up some very nice and often times scarce items. I have also mixed in items from my stock that have never been listed before. Please enjoy!. Some of my markings you may not be familiar with:Sc = Scott CatalogueNF = Nicholas Follansbee's catalogueY/B = Yag Bash Catalogue of Stampless cancels (pre-1856)SN = Sello Negro (Black Stamp) covers used when postage stamps were not available (after 1856).OOD = Out of District (These are cancels used either as cancellation at place of sending or as receiver cancels. Only on cover is there positive proof of use.) t-(numbers 1-10) = one of the ten relief types found on 1868 issues. t-with number = type - number on any items that needs separation of types. Tipo = Types of Mexico, the 1868 issues that were printed from the original stones, used in a contemporary postal fraud during 1870-71.Sz = Schatzkes catalogue number for cancels used from 1856 to 1872 issues.Sch = Schimmer Catalogue number (state, office#/cancel #) 1874 -1900 issues.District may be abbreviated, such as DGO = Durango, GDA = Guadalajara, GTO = Guanajuato, MAZ = Mazatlan, MEX DF = Mexico, QRO = Queretaro, SLP = San Louis Potosi, VCZ = Veracruz and ZAC = Zacatecas This is one of a number of Early Mexican classics to modern stamps and covers that I am running this week and all should be interesting and a great examples for the issue, district and cancels. and interesting usage. All of this material will have starting prices that represent very low retail for the lot. Condition varies, so some will be much better bargains than others, but most are far better than the average. Remember that if the stamp has full margins, these carry a 30% premium in NF catalogue values because catalogue prices in NF are for F-VF . So, don't pass up this opportunity to add excellent material to your collection. I have selected many of these examples for their outward appearance, and most in this selection you are viewing would be excellent examples to display in the best of collections. I have scanned all lots on a neutral background that will help in seeing edge conditions. Shipping is free to any addresses in the United States, by First Class mail in the United States. Airmail internationally items are shipped to any international address and will cost $1.00 for the first item and combined items will be sent free with the first shipping charge. Mexican orders carry a shipping charge of $4.00 and the rest are sent for free. I do not however insure any stamps sent. If you want more safety in items sent to you, you should pay the fee for Registered mailing. I suggest that any order sent to Mexico be sent registered when the value is over $50. I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SAFE TRAVEL TO YOU UNLESS THEY ARE SENT REGISTERED TO MEXICO. Registered mail is $10 to United States addresses and $12 international.
