Here is a delightful collection of eight decorative demitasse cups and saucers from various European makers. 1. Made by Saxe this cup and saucer has a cobalt blue background with gold decoration. The hand painted scene shows a man serenading a woman in a pastoral setting and the inside of the rim is decorated with a floral design. The decorative handle of the cup is also gilded. The cup measures just under 2 3/4" tall with the saucer measuring just under 4 3/4" in diameter. There are no cracks or chips and the overall used condition is good with little to no wear on the gilded areas. It has the SAXE crown symbol on the base. 2. This demitasse cup and saucer was made by H. Wisner and has the Mintons symbol on the base. It has a lovely turquoise raised design on a gilded background with a raised white star or petal pattern on the side of the cup and the middle of the saucer. The cup measures 2 1/4" tall and the saucer measures 4 1/2" in diameter. No cracks, chips or wear on this cup and saucer set. 3. A demitasse cup and saucer marked "Dresden" on the bottom. It shows two hand painted romantic scenes between two hand painted floral scenes on a gilded base. The saucer shows the same decorative arrangement and measures just over 4 1/4" in diameter. The patterned gilding on the rims of both the cup and the saucer shows just a little wear but not enough to spoil the overall effect. No cracks or chip on this cup and saucer set. 4. This demitasse cup and saucer shows plain white porcelain with a heavy gilded border to both pieces. Stamped on the bottom of both pieces are the words "Tice and Gates Rochester, NY". The cup measures 2 1/8" tall and the saucer measures 4 1/2" in diameter. Beautiful condition with no chips, cracks or wear. 5. Going by the faded mark on the bottom of the cup we believe this set was made by Limoges in France. The base color is mainly pale pink with a hand painted picture of two cherubs on one side. Unfortunately some of the gilded decoration has worn away both from the rim of the cup and the saucer. It has no chips or cracks and measures 1 1/2" for the cup and 4 1/4" in diameter for the saucer. 6. Here is a beautiful pink and gold cup and saucer from the Coalport factory in England. The inside of the cup is fully gilded and it has four claw or crown shaped feet to stand on. The cup shape is fluted and measures 2" across at it's widest point. It measures 1 3/4" tall with the saucer measuring 3 1/2" in diameter. There is an overall striped pattern in gold with white flecks. Condition is very good with no cracks, chips or wear. 7. Here is another Coalport little cup and saucer with red background and gilded decoration. The inside of the cup is gold and it has a fluted rim. It measures 1 3/4" tall with the saucer being 4" in diameter. Overall condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or wear. 8. Finally we have what appears to be a Royal Vienna demitasse cup and saucer. On the bottom of both pieces is the upsidedown symbol of the Beehive which indicates that this is where it was made. This item has a deep red base with gilded decoration and a handpainted picture of a lady with cherub on the side of the cup. The inside of the cup is gold, except for the bottom which remains white. The cup measures about 2" tall with the saucer measuring just under 4" in diameter. On the bottom of the cup is the name of the design - "Espiegliere" which translates to frolicsome or playful. read more
