Elegant Antique Tiffany Sterling Tea Strainer c. 1910, Beaded Chippendale Border This rather elegant sterling silver tea strainer dates from the great period of Tiffany design. It was probably made about 1910 from a pattern first used in 1901.The silver is of good gauge as one expects from Tiffany silver. There is a beaded border in a Chippendale pattern like those one would see on salvers. The piece is 6⅜ inches long. The bowl is 3¼ inches across. Overall conditiion is very good. The handle has some fine lines resulting from years of drying. There is a finely executed script monogram (H.M.L.) in the bowl, which you can see in the photographs. If you are knowledgable you can also see the composition of the handle. The piece is stamped on the back of the shank with the Tiffany name and the pattern and order numbers. It reads: Tiffany & Co. 14984 Makers 11793 Sterling m. The lower case "m" was used by Tiffany from 1907 to 1947. The initial ws based on the last name of the then-current president of the company, John C. Moore in this case.We are sorry but we reserve the right to reject bids from buyers with no feedback or negative feedback unless cleared with us beforehand.Returns are accepted only if there is a substantial error in our description.
