This was one of several Concert photo collections that belong to the late Janelle McComb, and part of her Elvis collection. Janelle passed away over two years ago in Tupelo, MS. Janelle collected many photos and took many herself of Elvis during her going to Elvis concerts all over the United States. She always had tickets up front. Usual Elvis and/or Colonel Parker would make sure of her seating arrangements. Janelle was a long time friend of the Presley family and a great fan and friend of Elvis and his immediate family. Both Janelle and her late husband, Roy were instrumental in the foundation of the Elvis Presley Park in Tupelo, MS, helping to preserve Elvis' birthplace, museum, gift shop and chapel. Apparently, Janelle took it upon herself to go to the Commercial Appeal to get photos or had an inside track to get photos from the photographer. This one concert black and white photo is from The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN. As you can see in the photo provided, that Robb Mitchell was the Staff Photographer working in 1974 for the Commercial Appeal. This photo was from Elvis' concert in Richmond, VA, March 12, 1974. Elvis is wearing the Hawaii concert jumpsuit called American Eagle. To my knowledge, this 8x10 black and white Elvis concert photo may be unpublished.
