Closer Look At the Item: Well, RARE is the only way to describe this US pressing. In May of 1977 RCA pressed the first run of the new Elvis release, "Moody Blue" and it was pressed on blue vinyl. The story goes a few of the boys in the pressing plant decided to get cute and they ran off a few other colors just for their inner group. They were never intended for distributiona nd never had any distribution. Rumors have floated for years on what colors are out there and how many were pressed, but it was only a handful as they are about as rare as any Elvis record you will find. Over the years the colored (excluding Blue, as it is common) "Moody Blue" albums have popped up here and there, but again nearly impossible to find. This is the GREEN vinyl and it is a beauty, the record and labels are Stone MINT, the cover is near mint, although the cover is the common stock cover, although the colored's that I have seen normally have a small dot at upper right of the colored vinyl inside. This stays true as a green dot is in place. The books really range of this item, I have seen it as low as $1,000 and as high as $2,500. It is worth what someone will pay for it, but I believe all the non blue colored Moody Blues are in the $2,000 plus range, they simply are incredibly rare. Again, this record is MINT, I am sure it has never been played. If you want to own the rarest of the rare, this is it!!!
