Here is the Emerson model 702-B AM radio from 1952 with beautiful wood throughout and highlighted by that remarkable matched grain pattern on the front. It's a simple design but executed so well by the craftsmen at Ingraham. The fine wood cabinet had a minor bit of veneer missing along with a worn finish darkened so much by the preceding decades that the excellent wood grain pattern could barely be seen. So, the veneer bit on the left side bottom front was restored and the cabinet was stripped. Since the original wood had a distinctive red glow, a red oak stain was applied. A new Emerson decal was placed where the original had been and all then finished with multiple coats of clear lacquer. The result is a gorgeous wood cabinet radio sure to impress all who see it.The glass dial is original, free of cracks, chips, or wear to the dial markings, and is illuminated with a new dial light. The knobs are original as is the power cord and plug. The labels, including the Ingraham badge, are still on the bottom and in the interior. The electronics has been revitalized with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced with modern units, tubes tested and replaced if performing below specs, controls cleaned and lubricated, and the set aligned. The result is sensitive reception from the internal loop antenna across the AM band with tons of volume read more
