This is a cracking and VERY RARE item from raf spitfire.This is the bottom section the engine intercooler which has readable markings on the brass outer caseing this is a very heavy iyem and a real peace of the hart of the engine and VERY RARE bit as the plane only had one of these the part has been cleaned but would clean up more with some effort and is a nice and very collectable piece of battle of Britain history the intercooler comes complete with a 5X7 information sheet with the crash details and photos and is perfect for display or any collection.This piston came from RAF spitfire work number P9364 flown by Sergeant E scott which was shot down and crashed at Hollingbourne in Kent during the Battle of Britain on the 27th September 1940 by German fighter ace Werner Molders.
