Poured wax shoulder head with face cast downward, blue glass enamel inset eyes, tinted eye liner and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with wistful expression, sculpted ears, brunette mohair wig, soft muslin stitch-jointed body, poured wax lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dolls, Toys and Games, F. Aldis, Belgrave Mansions SW. (body stamp). Comments: circa 1875, the fashionable doll was sold by the London shop, Aldis. Value Points: beautiful face, wearing (frail) original silk and lace costume with original multi-layer undergarments and corset, leather shoes. Estimate: 1100/1500
