Enormous Big Large Vintage Gold Locket RS Art Nouveau

Not surprising this very large and lovely locket was produced by a company better known for compacts that jewelry. Marked FM Co inside it was made by the Finberg Manufacturing Co Inc located in Attleboro Massechusettes. This company was started in Attleboro Massechusetts 1888 and the following specifics were written about it in the 1930's publication "History of Massechusett Industries Their Inception, Growth and Success by Orra L. Stone": "F. B. Miller secretary, employing thirty-five operatives in the manufacture of cigarette cases; the Finberg Manufacturing Co., Inc., with capital of $140,000, employing fifty hands in the production of gold, silver and plated jewelry, Joseph Finberg being president and treasurer of the concern". The company stamping within would indicate a production date in the 1940's but the design itself is indicative of the Art Nouveau era. Very pretty and well made it is large and wonderful. The perfect size for displaying photographs in a display w they are actually large enough to see! What a concept. The locket itself measures 1 3/4" in diameter. Open it from the top near the support ring to find two locations for photos, complete with the framing rings that fit tightly and secure them well. It snaps closed easily and securely.
