Unbelievable, but true! This plasticized "deal toy" was a party favor / souvenir at one of Enron International's Legal Department annual "Law Conferences" for their in-house legal teams. (Can you say boondoggle? Heh, I know you can!) While hilarious at the time it was delivered to the Enron lawyers, we now know t was more truth than fiction to this sarcastic plaque! One side lists the tradtional Enron Corp. values. The other side (pictured) reads as such: MISSION STATEMENT ENRON INTERNATIONAL LEGAL DEPARTMENTAdopted February 1998 Our Mission To provide prompt and first rate legal service to Enron on a proactive and cost-effective basis. Translation We do big, complex, and risky deals without blowing up Enron. Well! This piece was photographed by CBS news and several local media outlets during the tragic demise of Enron. I've kept it in excellent condition, but I'm long over reminiscing my days (yes, I was t at Enron. Hint: This would make a great gift for attorneys or history buffs!
