EONS: X20 MADAGASCAR TRIASSIC BOBASATRANIA (RARE) DESCRIPTION: This specimen was found as a nodule and when split open revealed the stunning fossil within. No dyes or colorants have been applied -- this is a 100% âeoeas foundâe specimen. These fossils are preserved as negative imprints inside siliceous-clayed, non-calcareous nodules, due to peculiar taphonomic processes. Most notable and desirable about this fossil is that the one plate is not the mirror image of the other -- which is typical with most other positive / negative pairs. Rather, each fossil is of one side of the fish and so the two together can form a mold to produce a life-sized replica. Your bid is for both the positive and negative plates as shown. So you get two fossils for one winning bid! GENUS: Bobasatrania sp. (rarely found in this formation) COLLECTED: Ambilobe, northwest Madagascar AGE: Dienerian Regional Stage (from 250.4 to 249.7 +/- 0.7 million years ago), Early Triassic Epoch LENGTH: the nodule measures 4.5 inches long NET WEIGHT: 13.35 ounces (1.5 pounds ship weight) SHIPPING EVERYW: Please use the postage calculator below. 30 DAY RETURN POLICY: If you decide within 30 days of auction end that you do not want an item purchased from me for any reason, then you can return it in as-sold condition for a refund of the closing bid price.
