My well loved and used 1996 Epiphone Special model which has been a working guitar and has loads of relic look and feel. Beautifully set up and with a wonderfully slick and played in feel, this guitar is like an old friend in your hands Note this is not a later model 2 but an early model. 100% original with the Epi open coil buckers, chrome tuners, tune-a-matic bridge and stoptail all of which are well tarnished but otherwise in full working order. The rosewood fingerboard is not worn, nor are the frets which I have always replaced if they got too worn. I give the date as the year I bought it though it was not new then. Maybe a little older. The body has buckle rash on the back and the front has some scratches and minor dings but nothing serious. All controls work fine. Killer tone and great kudos, but if you want a shiny, pretty fingergrater look elsewhere. I wish I could keep hold of every guitar forever ( I am NOT a dealer, just a player and guitar builder) but well... i can't. This was never an expensive guitar lets be fair, but this one plays like a les paul which is why I've kept it so long. I've always loved this little axe and hope you give it a good home. Comes with an old gig bag which is a freebie. Paypal or cash on collection please. I am happy with local collection, courier collection by arrangement, or postage (3. 5kg) by parcelmonkey which will be less than a tenner to anywhere in the uk. I will get a quote for the winning bidder if reqd and only charge the cost. (I hate people who try to make money on postage.) I will post very well packaged and quite safe and insured. I will not post overseas, no one with less than 10 feedback points or poor feedback... your bid will be removed. No returns except if faulty. Low reserve so and grab a real guitar for next to nowt. Good luck. OK, I've been asked by many people for the same info so here it is for all to see. The condition is good, there are a few light scratches on the top face near the bridge pup which would probably polish out if you wanted to, very light buckle rash on the back and again a long thin scuff which may polish out but I never bothered. The neck is straight as a die,a fairly slim C profile and the fretboard is typical Gibson style with no noticeable wear, frets are low medium and have some wear under the string positions but nothing to affect playablilty, I would describe it s a fairly flat radius board. Action is low, 4mm ish at 15th fret but would go lower, (I like it this high so I can get purchase.)The pups are original, everything is original. There's one or two minor dings around the edge, again hardly noticeable. The guitar has had a lot of use, mainly as my backup guitar and well.. just looks old! The fretboard has that shiny patina you only get from years of playing. There is one TINY surface lacquer craze hidden under the cutaway which is definitely nothing to worry about, just years of humidity changes in hot pubs and cold vans I suppose. Theres some rust on the pickup screws. The guitar is an Epiphone Special Model, the forerunner of the Special 11 model I guess, its flat topped like a gibson junior. Soundwise it's an out and out rock guitar but does clean up fairly well. Not spangly like a tele, not for country and western!!!! I dont play in a band anymore so dont need a backup so i'm selling this to buy a hiscox hard case for my latest creation, I'm not giving it away, it's far too good for that. It has been professionally set up (by me) and maintained as a player's guitar. As I said.. if you want shiny new, buy shiny new! If you want a well loved, well maintained, well aged, lovely player to learn or perform with, this is ideal. Hope this helps, Cheers read more
