***There have been many watchers for all of my Eric Richardson listings; I have decided to offer three paintings at a 99p no reserve auction start, two on art_promenade and one on r.bob. Please put a bid on these listings; collectors are buying them now, and there is a limited amount available to the market*** Eric Richardson (1934 - 2001) Eric Richardson was born on 27th May 1934 in Middlesex, the second son of Harold and Rhena Richardson. They soon moved to Chippenham where Eric spent his formative years. In the mid 1950's Eric attended Salisbury college of Art for 2 years before being accepted into the Bath Academy of Art at Corsham for a further 2 years where one of his tutors was Sir Howard Hodgkin. Whilst there he would also have been influenced by William Scott, Keith Vaughan, Adrian Heath, Martin Froy and probably also by Henry Cliffe. After Corsham Eric did a year's teacher training before teaching art at Bennetts End School, Hemel Hempstead and at St Guthlacs School in Crowland, Lincolnshire before moving to York and teaching at Cannon Lee School, Clifton, York from 1976 until he retired in the late 1980's due to failing health. During Eric's teaching career he also taught art to adults at night school, and to mature students once retired.
