Cleveland's only saloonkeeper-owned brewery was under way.The primary figure behind the venture was long-time saloonkeeper Stephan S. Creadon, and the majority of the firm's stock was held by other saloonkeepers. One observer aplly descriped the circumstances surrounding Standard's formation: A unique creation of time is Standard: it is the brewery of innkeepers.
