Up for auction is an original, vintage, Esso Fat Man bank. It dates back to the late 1940's or early 1950's according to the retired Esso gas station dealer that I bought a small Esso collection from. The bank is plastic and stands 5 " high. T is no manufacturers name or mark on it anyplace. The fat man has his usual smiley face, black brimmed cap, with small Esso decal on the front. He is wearing his Esso blue uniform with the Esso insignia on the left breast and with a black bow tie and black shoes. This bank is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The Esso dealer's name on the back is Hebler's Esso Station, 10 th & State Sts., Camden, N.J.. The name plate can be removed in order to empty the bank of its contents and then the name plate snaps back into place.
