From a lovely Maine estate auction and sale, tonight I'll be listing a number of interesting antiques and collectibles including this elegant lot or set of three antique sterling silver marked serving knives or spreaders , perfect for butter or pate, with very ornate handles that also have the fancy engraved initials LLM, they are each marked STERLING on the back as well as having a makers mark that I am not familiar with, but perhaps a nice eBayer can identify it and I will add it later! Each knife measures about 4 1/4" in length, the oddly shaped spreader measures about 11/2" by 1" of this length and is flat and slightly curved as you see in the pictures..Victorians had serving pieces for everything and this undoubtably is Victorian sterling, intended for some special purpose! Three are sold together, overall very good condition with surface scratches consistent with use on the flat portion, the handles are excellent and gorgeous, front and back..$4.00 US shipping.
