DESCRIPTION: This is a lot of over 375 old Kentucky postcards from the estates of two life-long collectors. TYPES OF POST CARDS: The lot consists of the following:about 12 real photo post cards,about 3 undivided back cards (pre-1908),around 40 older cards (1907-15),approximately 50 white border cards (1915-30),around 260 linen era cards (1930s-50s), anda mixture of about 25 printed cards (mostly 1940s-50s).DUPLICATION: T are two kinds of possible duplication in lots: 1) duplication of subject (e.g., a NY City collector could have 100 different Statue of Liberty cards) and 2) duplication of a specific card (i.e., more than one copy of the same card). In counting these cards, both types of duplication occur, especially in cards related to Lincoln and the song "Old Kentucky Home." SIZE: Standard (approx. 3 ½" x 5 ½" ) Scanned cards are enlarged to show detail. AGE/ERA: 1900-1950s CONDITION: The vast majority of cards are in good to very good condition, several in excellent condition and a few in fair to poor condition with soft edges, scrap book paste or soil or age coloring on the reverse. Occasionally, some bright person will (try to) remove the extremely valuable one cent stamp (yes, we jest) off a fragile, 90 year-old postcard. If the process does not compromise the card (e.g., ruin the corner), we will likely include it in the read more
