DESCRIPTION: This is a lot of over 600 old postcards of Yellowstone National Park from the estates of two life-long collectors. TYPES OF POST CARDS: We counted out two stacks of just over 100 cards (older, white border cards and linen era cards) and estimated by matching stacks that t are in the neighborhood of 6-700 cards in this lot. The lot consists of the following:roughly 300 white border (1920s-30s) and other older cards or cards of undetermined age andabout 400 linen era (1939-1950s) cards. The majority of the cards were published by Haynes. However, t are also cards published by JL Robbins of Spokane, Bloom Bros. of Minneapolis, Scheuber Drugs of Livingston, Montana, Detroit Publishing, Northern Pacific and Union Pacific Railways, Johnston & Boardwyn of Rapid City, the mysterious H-H-T Company and perhaps others.DUPLICATION: T are two kinds of possible duplication in lots: 1) duplication of subject (e.g., a New York collector could have 100 different Statue of Liberty cards) and 2) duplication of a specific card. In this lot, you get a good share of both. This is not to say that t is not a lot of variety, but you will find duplicates of many cards. SIZE: Standard (approx. 3 ½" x 5 ½" ) Scanned cards are enlarged to show detail. AGE/Era: 1907-1950s CONDITION: The vast majority of cards are in good to very good condition, read more
