This is a wonderful and extremely hard to find piece, collector's dream!Signed by famous Estela Popowsky and well known to Mexican silver aficionados artist with AE in heart mark. Estela Popowsky worked in Mexico city during 1950s, she also briefly worked for Los Castillo and Antonio Pineda. This large modernist cross pendant is made using "piedra negra" technique; a "sandwich" of black onyx, silver and brass with a diamond shape crushed turquoise inlay in the center. Well made, impressive, and truly collectible piece! Size : 2 3/4" long including the bale, 1 5/8" wide. 2 1/4" long without the bale. Weight : 12.8 g. Hallmarks : Popowsky, AE in heart, circle - sterling 925 Mexico. Sterling, eagle mark 23. Condition : Vintage, normal wear, patina. Needs some polish. Questions are always welcome! Special requests?
