This auction is for a wonderful piece of early Majolica. It is European and probably dates back to the late 1800's. It is all original and in very good condition! It is a see-saw or teeter-totter that features a man and a woman on a moveable wooden bar as shown. The wooden bar attaches to the ornately decorated base with a metal screw bolt that is weighted underneath. The piece dissembles easily for easy shipping or storage, and then reassembles easily, too! The base has four scrolled feet and measures 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" -- it stands 3 1/4" tall. Fully assembled, the piece measures 6 1/2" tall and is 9" end to end. The piece is hand decorated and has wonderful detail and workmanship! The base is numbered as shown in the photos. The center hole has minor wear w the weight and screw fit. The gentleman's ponytail has a hairline crack in it, but it is all t! Also, the left hand of the man may have been repaired -- it is a different color and shape from the man's right hand. The little lady is perfect! This is a rare find, a gorgeous piece of Majolica, and an exceptional piece of art! Payment should be made with a personal check (held 14 days) or bank check/money order or paypal (ship immediately). Insurance is required on this item. |
