Longoria used a blue ball point to autograph the sweet spot of this baseball. This baseball has been laser engraved below Longoria's signature with "Evan Longoria #3 Tampa Bay Rays 2008 AL Rookie of the Year .272 AVG 27 HR 85 RBI 122 Hits 67 Runs 31 Doubles". Longoria had a magical rookie season in 2008. It started by making his MLB Debut on April 12, and then two days later hitting his first home run on April 14. Longoria would go on to be voted to the 2008 American League All-Star team, and helping the Rays advance to the postseason for the first time in franchise history. The Rays would end up playing in the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. After the 2008 season, Longoria was honored with the American League Rookie of the Year Award.
